Layers are a staple in my wardrobe, and I recently discovered how the unconventional pairing of a flowy tee on top of a slip dress creates the perfect transition into the coming summer days. Thus, as the weather begins to shift I plan to focus on thinner fabrics that way I can continue to embrace my love for black without dying in the summer sun. On that note, I do believe finding ways to transition your style throughout any season is ideal when trying to maintain a unique style that is completely and totally you.

Fairies are invisible and inaudible like angels. But their magic sparkles in nature. ~Lynn Holland
Sometimes we just need a day to surround ourselves in the beauty of the trees, but regardless if I am going to the grocery store, or pretending I’m a woodland fairy fashion never takes a backseat. Therefore, I decided that a trip to the nature center would be a prime example of how one can be practical, and yet still remain stylish. On that note, you can probably tell I will take any excuse to dress up, and my vintage hat made the perfect addition to my day in nature.

From my head to my toes.
Flowers are a part of my everyday; I use them in analogies, in showing my love, and in my outfits to showcase how inspirational they are to me. Although, as my journey began with flowers being displayed upon my head, I have now branched out into different vintage hair pieces, but flowers seem to always make an appearance. Therefore, in this case, I decided to pair my quirky vintage accessories with a pair of modern flower flats to add some color and light to my outfit.

When two worlds collide.
Music and fashion go hand in hand, and regardles of what world you dabble in, I believe self presentation is key when you are first starting off. Although, staying true to your own sense of style is a major factor because you should be able to produce this look on a daily basis. Therefore, I decided to feature one of my dear, and extremely talented friends Oliver Eldridge to showcase not only his outstanding musical abilities, but his own sense of style. He has recently released his debut album entitled “Dominion Abuse” on iTunes under his band name Mushroom Cloud. You can find his album here: Mushroom Cloud

What my (vintage) dreams are made of.
30 year old vintage Halston, oh just typing those words makes my heart skip a beat, and being able to add this grand piece to my collection for FIVE dollars was quite possibly the most thrilling fashion moment ever. See, vintage is my wonderland; I can never get enough and each item has a special piece of history added without even saying a word. So, on that note, I believe all there is left to say is enjoy, because I know I will.

Coloring outside the lines.
Glancing into our past we sometimes find patterns on how we tend to dress, and because of this we can sometimes fall into what I call fashion repeat mode. Now, don’t get me wrong, keeping to one specific look is key when you begin to build a brand or just your average day to day look, but sometimes we just need to branch out. See, I am guilty of being the girl who is always in the dark, well dark colors that is, but when I stumbled upon this beautiful vintage dress I decided to see if I could make it work. Therefore, by adding in my dark accessories, I was able to lift the veil and see that we can truly make any look our own if we just make the effort.

let the clouds roll in.
I, myself, am someone who gravitates toward dark colors; I feel they not only compliment my pale skin nicely, but are also a universally flattering shade on most body types. The sultry essence that dark colors tend to bring to my daily outfits is what appeals to me most, but as an avid black wearer finding a way to switch up my look is key. Therefore, I have learned that mixing dark patterns, different types of textures, and adding in pops of light accessories is what suits my personality best.
